microKORG patches

Still warming up to my new microKORG and discovering that it has a healthy relationship with my computer. KORG provides a free sound editor for your pc or mac, and I just ran across a lot of free patches you can download to your microKORG through a midi cable.

Thanks for the patches, but I'm not entirely sure how to get them to work. Should the MicroKorg Sound Editor be able to open the .prg files?

they work fine on Mac OSX, just get the correct interface software from the Korg website :)

same here, i could open these on the windows version a few years back, but not now on os x 10.5. the editor itself works, but its not possible to open individual .prg files for some reason. ideas?

@davidscullymoulderbowie:

you can use the .prg files with OS X, but not initially through the microkorg sound editor, you need to use SysEx Librarian as an intermediary. what you do is rename the .prg file to .mid, then open it with SysEx Librarian and click "play". this sends the patch to the microkorg (assuming you have all the setting on the MK correctly set to allow midi data receipt).

from there you can send the patch from the MK into the MK sound editor and play with it visually.

a few extra steps, but works!
